This best-selling fantasy trilogy originally carried drawings by author Robin Jarvis, but I was approached to illustrate the Japanese edition. I love working in black and white, and this was a wonderfuIly rich tale to explore, full of drama and mystery. I was careful not to step too far outside the authors vision, while establishing my own take on the dark and gripping plot.
