This was my first self-penned picture book released in Japan, so I had almost complete creative control over the artwork. The story of a rabbit who holds a house-warming party that gradually fills the little house to bursting point and beyond, was based on a true story. When I was a student in Manchester, one of my flat-mates decided to advertise our house party in the same manner with similar, though less catastrophic, results! Lots of opportunities for detailed characterisation and chaos. |
